The trail begins at the suspension bridge (footbridge) over the Correntoso River. From here, a well-marked and signposted 15 km trail leads to Rincón Bonito.

This trail has been used since the early 20th century by local settlers and passes through a series of fields inhabited by people who keep the Gaucho Campesino culture alive. The route follows the southern bank of the Ventisquero River, crossing through primary forests, new growth, and pampas. Its main attractions include the forest, views of the Ventisquero River, and Hanging Glaciers.

  • Hiking the Trail

One of the best trails in the area, it is relatively flat, wide, and well-marked. It features bridges and Tyrolean carts as alternatives when the rivers are swollen from snowmelt and rain. The 15 kilometers from the Correntoso footbridge can be covered in an average of 4 hours. The trail has several water points, and you can often hear the Woodpecker, the Chucao, the Wett Wett, and the Fio Fio, who visits us every summer.

  • Riding the Trail

Riding is undoubtedly the traditional way to travel in the area. The main difference from trekking is the fording of the Ventisquero River to shorten the journey, when the river allows. It offers stunning views of the mountainous landscape and the glaciers hanging from the peaks at the end of the valley.

  • Trail with Packhorses

A great way to travel is to have your load transported by packhorses, allowing you to walk lightly and leisurely along this beautiful mountain trail.
If needed, we can provide you with a list of local muleteers.
